Japan’s samurai warriors are one of the country’s iconic symbols and celebrated for their honor, chivalry, loyalty and martial prowess.
At this first TAC Talk of 2023, Gavin Blair (pictured), the author of An Illustrated Guide to Samurai History and Culture, debunks some of the myths of the katana-wielding warriors while explaining their enduring influence on contemporary culture.
The British journalist will discuss the rise and eventual demise of the samurai clans, Bushido—the samurai code of behavior—and the samurai legacy.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and have Blair sign a copy of his beautifully illustrated hardcover book (available for ¥4,580) at the end.
