Junior Jiujitsu

Young students develop confidence on and off the mat.

What will the students learn in this class?
Students will learn the basics of Brazilian jiujitsu. In this class, self-defense, ground fighting skills, strategic positioning and submissions will be introduced and practiced.

The class consists of three main components:

  1. Basic Solo Movements: Students will learn break-falls, rolling, balancing, breathing techniques and coordination exercises, as well as pair drills.
  2. Attack and Defense Techniques: Students will learn strategic positioning and submission techniques.
  3. Positional Sparring: Students will apply attack and defense techniques in specific situations. Advanced students may also engage in free sparring.

What are the benefits of this class?
Practicing jiujitsu enhances movement awareness, cardiovascular fitness, core strength and mobility, while also building confidence and resilience. Each session on the mat offers new learning opportunities as jiujitsu is a creative and strategic sport that requires thinking ahead and problem-solving.

The journey to mastery takes time and dedication, and by consistently attending classes, kids gradually accumulate a variety of techniques. Additionally, students learn the importance of discipline and respect by adhering to mat rules, wearing a clean uniform, tying their belts correctly, lining up, waiting their turn, training respectfully with partners and shaking hands.
